Mr. William (Bill) Harrison serves as the Technical Advisor for Fuels and Energy for the Propulsion Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB Ohio and as the Acting Deputy Director, Air Force Energy Policy, in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Energy, Environment, Safety and Occupational Health. He is an Air Force Research Laboratory Fellow responsible for developing plans, strategy and technical recommendations related to fuels and energy programs for the Air Force in support of the Air Force Energy Strategy’s three pillars: to increase supply, reduce demand and change the culture. He chairs and/or serves on several interagency, DoD level, government/commercial and academic working groups related to alternative energy, the environment, and propulsion.
Mr. Harrison has received many awards and decorations including the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics 2008 Engineer of the Year award, the Exceptional Civilian Service Award, Meritorious Civilian Service Award, Exemplary Civilian Service Award, Military Reservist Supervisor of the Year, and the Dayton Affiliates Council Award for Outstanding Professional Achievement. In addition, as a team co-lead he has received the FAA Excellence in Aviation Award, Defense Standardization Program Achievement Award, Air Force Association Award, U.S. Air Force Outstanding Science Team Award, and the Ronald W. Yates Award. He is also a member of the National Scholars Honor Society.
Mr. Harrison has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from MIT. In addition he is a MIT Sloan Fellow.
