The United States is contributing at least $85 million to an
international initiative called "Climate REDI," which will
promote clean energy in developing countries. The five-year,
$350 million initiative will help to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions in those countries while improving health conditions.
The United States makes up 5% of the world's population and accounts for 25% of total energy use.
