DOE has announced it will support its first three clean energy
projects under the Low-Carbon Communities of the Americas
initiative begun in June. The projects are an energy efficiency
center in Costa Rica, a small wind turbine project in
Dominica, and a broader clean energy effort in the Caribbean.
Estimated energy demand is charted to grow by almost 50% in the next 20 years.
