Military Operations Research Society (MORS) “Power and Energy” meeting
Military Operations Research Society (MORS) is planning a “Power and Energy” (P&E) special meeting, focused on military energy with the goal to bring greater analytical rigor and adapt planning tools to better assess and manage how energy demand affects military capability.
Working groups will build on the findings of the 2008 Defense Science Board Task Force report "More Fight, Less Fuel" (http://www.acq.osd.mil/dsb/reports/2008-02-ESTF.pdf) to improve the fidelity of analysis of enemy threats to fuel logistics, tradeoffs between fuel demand and other design characteristics of military units and platforms, and approaches to assuring power supplies to critical installations and missions.
We seek workshop attendees with backgrounds in operations research as well as subject matter expertise in energy and materials technology and engineering, force planning, requirements development, acquisition and base operations. Participants will bring their expertise to help develop actionable approaches to addressing military P&E challenges.
The workshop is Monday, 30 November 2009 through Thursday, 3 December 2009, in Chantilly, VA, near Dulles International Airport. The price for attending has not been set.
Please contact either of the following if you are interested in attending:
